Medicinal uses:

It is aphrodisiac, rejuvenative, tonic. It strengthen to the body, alleviates vata and pitta dosha, cures epistaxis, diabetes, mennorrhgea, leucorrhoea, uterine weakness, paralysis and facial paralysis.

A decoction of the root with ginger is given by ayurvedic physicians in intermittent fever. It is also administered in fever accompanied by rigour. The powdered root bark is administered with milk and sugar as treatment for urinary urgency and leucorrhoea. The seeds are used to treat urinary infections. They are also believed to be aphrodisiac.

 Home remedies:

  1. Its root powder should be used in the dose of 3 gm along with milk to cures Pradara in females, polyurea and to strengthen the body.
  2. Its Ksheerapaka prepared with Prishniparni is so beneficial in bleeding piles and also in epistaxis.
  3. In general debility, its powder along with Ashwagandha, Shatawari, Vidarikanda in the dose of 5 gm, should be taken
