Pipplimoola (Piper longum): Medicinal uses:
It is acrid, hot, light, digestive, appetizer, aphrodisiac, and tonic. It cures cough, dyspnoea, ascites, leprosy, diabetes, chronic fever, piles, colic, indigestion, anemia, and worm troubles. Along with Black Pepper and Ginger, Pippali is part of the famous digestive formula known as Trikatu (Three Spices).
Pipali moola has similar properties as pippali. Pippali moola is carminative. It pacifies Kapha and Vata. It is useful in respiratory and cardiac problems, it relieves spasms and constipation. It is also useful in insomnia.
