Fenugreek is best known for its hypoglycemic action which makes it useful in diabetes.
It has anti-inflammatory action and also reduces cholesterol levels.
It is also an anti-oxidant, anti-cancerogenic, anti-adhesive, and hepatoprotective.
The daily intake of fenugreek detoxifies the body and helps in indigestion, constipation, and acidity.
The presence of diogenin the natural estrogen-like component helps in uterine contraction during childbirth and also helps in dysmenorrhea.
Fenugreek taken in the postnatal period will improve the excretion and menstruation and also help in inducing milk in lactating women and is also strengthening.
It is also used for kidney ailments, vitamin deficiency diseases, mouth ulcers, boils, bronchitis, and infection of the tissues beneath the surface of the skin (cellulitis), tuberculosis, chronic coughs.
